The austrian Torso

Hailing from the imperial Vienna, Torso are a  groovy psychedelic band with an extra flavor. That extra is called voice. Yes, a screamy high-piched voice. I love the fact that both guitarists are yelling their soul on stage. They are calling out for Monalisa or taking introspective trips into obsessive tunes, building up a fire into your brain.They remind me of the Durango swedes. I've seen them 5 times and each one, it was like a brand new experience. They are getting better and weirder every time i hear them. They seem like a restless body of  riff muscles and a backbone made of fat drums held together by a crawling Fender bass. They are a wild bunch, with delicious guitar solos. We had them for 3 times in Timisoara and each time the crowd was amazed. How i entered the void with Methadone Skies

Well i know this guys from their early days. When i first heard them, i was happy to see that we have fresh sound in our city. Young bloods with psychedelia in their minds.Their first release was a bit rushed and you could hear that they were searching. Hopefully that search didn't end. Their second release, starring two guitar players manage to sound interesting, dreamy and quite popular. Groovy riffs  traveling through balanced rhythm and sweet delays, were filling my earphones for the first time i heard the album. It has a unique personality,  types of songs which i am sure delighted stoner heads around the planet. Songs are built faster into their apex and then let to fade into the loud abyss.They escalate quickly and roar searching for recognition. They are a mud star ready to shine into the void from the enter to the exit of the album. It's a sonic adventure which i strongly recommend to be served with a stinky joint and a cold beer. I love their live performances, especially the way they improvise the tunes. It's a big step in their path, and i am sure that the best is yet to come.

Kamifuzzy and how it's going down

It started a couple of years ago, after seeing great rock and roll gigs  in Vienna, Budapest and Erdberg, we started to think that, with a lot of compassion and dedication to live music, we can start organizing cool gigs. We love music, and we love it a lot, and that is the driving force that made us who we are today. We just wanted to see cool bands playing in our hometown.True bands with soul and dedication to the realm of the blissful sound.Along  the years we had psychedelic, stoner, alternative and mind blowing bands that we don't even know how to label, and that's the beauty of it.The more diverse and intriguing the better for our ears and thoughts.  We made this so that we can all enjoy the live experience of loud music, for the waving pants and mesmerizing faces at the start of a cool tune. We all play music and we know what involves  touring. With every gig we learned new and useful things and in the end we:  Bren , Jess , Szilard and Vali, are  ready to go down in the hearts of true music fans.From the booking part and logistics, to the sweet media memories, we are more than happy for making it happen. So far we did gigs with awesome bands like: My Sleeping Karma, Karma to Burn , Seven that Spells, Stonebride, Secret Chiefs 3 , A.P.P.A.T, Rozbub, Torso, Methadone Skies, Blight and The :Egocentrics.

Opeth si metamorfozele

Desi au ajuns sa fie o supertrupa cu enorm succes comercial, Opeth a inceput dintr-un vis al tanarului Mikael Akerfeld. Influentele lor sunt din capul locului cunoscute ca fiind heavy metal incipient. Cu unul din cele mai bune urlete din muzica cu pasaje angelice si mladioase ale glasciorului, Akerfeldt a schimbat optica asupra metalului in general. Cu compozitii alese, influentat rockul progresiv saptezecist , de King Crimson , Camel si multe banduri obscure cu un sound excelent, reusesc sa surprinda de la un album la altul, de la pure death metal la un album folk.

Polivalenta si maiestrie curata, munca titanica in faurirea acestui nume Opeth.Desi macinati de despartiri de membrii, fiind la un label mare cu pretentii si cat se poate de comercial, baietii au reusit sa isi pastreze maduva karmica si metalica intreaga.

Maiestria lui Mikael se poate asculta si in numeroasele sale colaborari fiecare avand ceva aparte; prima fiind trupa sa initiala de death Bloodbath, supergrupul Katatonia, cu britanicii de la Porcupine Tree, cu Dan Swano in proiectul Steel si in mult asteptatul proiect Soul Corrosion impreuna cu baiatul multitalentat Steven Wilson, ce apropo... trebuie sa apara.

Poetica si inaltatoare, melancolica si trista, demonica si imbietoare deopotriva, Opeth ramane o trupa ce iti poate hrani diverse sentimente la orice varsta sau situatie in decursul anilor.

De multe ori anumite piese putand fi asociate cu anumite trairi intense, locuri sau emotii.

Putine trupe pot aduce asa ceva la viata, asa ca va recomand cu caldura, sa ii ascultati, in tramvaiul gol intr-o zi de toamna sau la o plimbare primavaratica in parc . Indiferent de mood sau anotimp indreptati ochii spre cer si savurati Opeth.

Seasick Steve si darul de fi demodat

Omul nu are nevoie de descrieri vaste ca doar de aia exista a tot stiutorul internet. E destul de batran dar extrem de in forma, cu un sound si fel de a canta la chitara cu totul aparte.

Genul sau etichetele cum le place unora sa le caute, e simplu si de pe plantatie, adica cat se poate de pur:blues.

Banal , simplu si direct omul le spune din gura si din degete precum un profet.

E adevart ca multi canta blues si multi imita pe si mai multi ce canta blues ; tocmai de aceea e greu de a aduce ceva special si proaspat in acest gen/stil.

Mult slide, ritm sacadat, viteze multiple la falange si un rezultat mai mult ca sublim. Fie ca e o cobza improvizata , cu o singura coarda sau o chitara electrica, steve a ajuns in studiouri dupa ani de cantat pe strazi, povestindu-si viata si deliciile ei.

Poate parea demodat, dar omul imi readuce pofta de a reasculta blues.

Limba-i si expresiile suferinde , ritmul batut din picior si felul de a plesni corzile m-au facut sa-i devin fan.

Mike Patton si cei sapte pitici

Cu adevarat un inovator si foarte talentat om in muzica . A debutat de la o varsta frageda; la inceput fiind des confundat cu vocalul Anthony Kiedis de la Red hot chilli peppers. Trecand peste , omul este de neoprit si de nestavilit in ultimii ani. Faith no more fiind doar inceputul unei adevarate aventuri. De la alternativ rock la pop, rap si inapoi la jazz. A compus si inregistrat soundtrackuri si a recreat vocile monstrilor in diverse jocuri. A colaborat cu o sumedenie de oameni , de la Sepultura la Bjork, John Zorn si Rahzel, The Melvins si Massive Attack fiind o lista pe scurt.

Vesnic nou si inovator cu un proiect nou aparut. Omul a avut numeroase banduri cu oameni adunati din zeci de alte trupe.

E greu de etichetat ca interpret si tocmai asta face deliciul celor care il asculta. De la urlete isterice cu The Dillinger Escape Plan la slagarele italienesti din anii 50 cu Mondo Cane. Nimic nu ii sta in cale si nimic nu ii poate opri furia , vocea aparte si frenezia care il face unic. Un concert live cu Mike fiind o adevarata poveste.

La varsta de 42 de ani Mike are o adevarata visterie de albume la capitolul realizari. Neconventional si deloc la fel , tot timpul cu sete de a creea ceva nou si unic daca nu macar diferit, Mike a influentat cam tot ce a insemnat nu-metal, altenative rock, crossoversi nu numai. Langa numele lui pot fi adaugate o sumedenie de epitete , fiind un ego-maniac cu un simt al umorului foarte devzoltat , folosindusi vocea si simtul muzical la cea mai mare intensitate indiferent ce ar insemna acest lucru.

John Zorn-cameleonul

Chiar astazi am avut interesul de a asculta un album de al sau: in search of the miraculous. Sunet cizelat , armonios, plin de sunete calde si o gramada de instrumente ce creeaza o atmosfera aparte.

De la pian la xilofon si harpa, cu iz initial de jazz , albumul te poarta pe diferite cai atata timp cat ii oferi sansa sa fuga liber prin neuroni si sa ii acorzi doza de atentie necesara. Uneori ametitor alteori oriental si chiar teatral, sunetul curge ca uns in armoniile aparente de jazz semicontemporan.

Desi etichetat avangarde, omul este mai mult decat atat. Interesul ma facut sa sap dupa mai multe albume si colaborari de ale lui si trebuie sa recunosc ca am fost impresionat. Omul a compus si cantat o sumedenie de genuri fara nici un fel de menajament. Printre altii a colaborat cu Trey Spruance de la Secret Chiefs 3, Mike Patton, Lou Reed si multi multi altii.

Va recomad un proiect de al sau "Naked City"; care desi pentru multe urechi e greu de digerat, arata dezinvoltura acestui om de a face exact ceeea ce vrea lasand la o parte fricile si criticile nedorite. Pe scurt omul a scos si produs atat de multa si diversa muzica incat este cam dificil sa descriu in cuvinte, de aceea va invit sa cascati urechea.
